Ride Grading

Each day in each tour is graded according to the level of difficulty and fitness. This is measured on the days distance travelled and the level of difficulty which is determined by road surfaces, the technical skills required to complete the routes and also the amount of hills to climb.

Green: Easy

These are leisurely paced rides involving rolling hills. Our routes travel over gravel roads, jeep tracks and well defined paths, capable of riding 2-3 hours a day. The average daily distance is an easy paced 25 - 35km

Yellow: Moderate

These rides are for people who have a reasonable level of fitness. The terrain becomes a little more challenging and mountainous with tougher trail surfaces to traverse, but without any very steep climbs or descents, the mountain biker must be capable of riding 3 - 4 hours a day. The average daily distances are still a very manageable 35 - 50km

Red: Fit

These rides are for the more experienced riders with good level of fitness. The terrain includes some tough mountainous passes and technical trail-riding sections, capable of riding 4 - 5 hours a day. The average daily distance is from 50 - 70km
